How to post your wedding invitations

We get many question from people about how to post these hardcover wedding invitations. So today I’ll write about it. Hopefully this post can help..

Are the hardcover wedding invitation expensive to post? How much is the postage?

Australia Post categorise the hardcover wedding invitations as large letter. Here’s what they said in their website:

A large letter is an article which exceeds at least one of the small letter dimensions and has the following characteristics:

rectangular in shape ( yes, the hardcover wedding invitation square is rectangular)
no larger than 260mm x 360mm ( yes, no problem – the size is 160mm x 160mm)
no thicker than 20mm (yes, no problem as well – the thickness is 7mm)
does not weigh more than 500g (yes – it’s only 100g – see photo below)

The wedding invitation frame model is around 80gr

The striped black and white envelope is less than 20g

So it’s either $1.20 or $1.80 per invitations. You can check their updated price list here.

How do you actually post them?

The hardcover invitation come with matching envelope. So basically you just put them in the envelope. That’s it.

We use plastic slip for extra protection – so it doesn’t get dirty or wet in the mail. You can put the stamp on to top of it.

If you only have a few to post, just pop the wedding invitations into the nearest postal box.

Of course it’s not very practical to fit 50 invitations or more into one single post box.

So simply bring them along to the nearest post office. They will count the invitations, and calculate the postage too. You can opt for the “postage paid” option (using the rubber stamp thingie) , or you can purchase postal stamps from them.

Sometimes they have special occassion stamps (such as Christmas, Valentine, etc) which looks lovely on the envelope. Or you can order personalised stamps to match the whole invitation set.

Don’t forget to put your address at the back. Just in case…

Hey, the size of the RSVP envelope is a bit small, will the post office deliver them?

Yes, just use the 60c stamp, and try mail it to yourself. We never have problem with it.

Tutorial – Soft pink diy wedding invitations

From beautiful soft shimmer pink, soft green, and aqua blue.

So for today’s post, I wrote a DIY wedding invitations using the soft pink book square.

My inspiration words are: sweet, blush pink, romantic, candy inspired, fairy tale wedding.

Okay, here’s what we need: Kanna Hardcover invitations in shimmer pink, ribbons, and a front label.

First, spray the edges of the ribbon using spray glue. Print the ribbon guide template, then lay out the invitation book on top.

Adhere the ribbon using the template, so it stays in the middle. Turn the invitation book, and align the two edges of the ribbon so they meet each other in the center.
